Gustave Mario Ramaciotti (born March 13, 1861 in Livorno , † December 6, 1927 in Melbourne ) was an Italian-Australian theater entrepreneur and soldier.

Ramaciotti came to Australia as a youth and in 1878 was a soldier in the Rockhampton Volunteers of the Queensland Defense Force . He was granted Australian citizenship in 1880, married in 1882, worked as a court clerk and joined the law firm Minter, Simpson & Co. in Sydney. In 1904 he became a partner of theater entrepreneurs James Cassius Williamson and George Tallis . In 1911 he sold his shares in the company and bought the Theater Royal in Sydney and the Sutton Hotel .

In addition, Ramaciotti always pursued his military career. He became a lieutenant in the 2nd Infantry Regiment in 1890, was promoted to captain in 1894, to major in 1904 and to lieutenant colonel and commander of the 1st Battalion of the 2nd Australian Infantry Regiment in 1909. After giving up his business activity, he was briefly with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers in Aldershot in 1911 and then took part in the Italian Army in the Italo-Turkish War . In 1912 he was given command of the 24th Infantry Battalion, 1913-14 he had command of the 11th Infantry Brigade with the rank of colonel. He published a report on his war experiences in London in 1912 under the title Tripoli, a Narrative of the Principal Engagements of the Italian-Turkish War during the Period 23 October 1911 to 15 June 1912 .

During the First World War, Ramaciotti was no longer deployed overseas for reasons of health and age. He participated in the mobilization of troops in Sydney and was from 1915 to 1917 in command in New Soouth Wales. In 1917 he became inspector general of the administration of Army Headquarters in Melbourne. In the same year he was awarded the Order of St Michael and St George , promoted to major general upon deactivation in 1920. Ramaciotti retired in Italy, but died of an ulceration of his teeth while visiting Australia in Melbourne.
