Andrei Vladimirovich Anikin

Andrei Wladimirowitsch Anikin ( Russian Андрей Владимирович Аникин ; born September 9, 1927 in Tomsk ; † August 29, 2001 in Moscow ) was a Russian economist and writer.

Anikin worked as a professor at the Moscow Institute for World Economy and International Relations . His research focused on the areas of money circulation, banks, the international monetary system and the US economy.

Life

Anikin graduated from the Moscow Institute of Foreign Trade in 1949 and then received his PhD from the Moscow Financial Institute in 1953 . With his habilitation “The credit system of modern capitalism. Study of the Materials in the United States. ”He received his degree in economics in 1964.

From 1949 to 1957 Anikin worked in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Trade and in the State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations. In 1957 he began working as head of research at the Institute for World Economy and International Relations. From 1965 to 1992 he also worked in the Political Economy Department of the Economics Faculty of Lomonosov University .

After the political change, Anikin worked as a consultant for the investment bank Morgan Stanley & Co. between 1990 and 1994.

In addition to his scientific works, Anikin also published science fiction works and wrote encyclopedic articles, which were published in the third edition of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia , among others .
