Thomas Noguchi

Thomas T. Noguchi , born as Tsunetomi Noguchi ( Japanese 野 口 恒 富 , Noguchi Tsunetomi ; born January 4, 1927 in Fukuoka Prefecture , Japan) is an American forensic scientist .

life and career

Thomas Noguchi was the senior coroner for Los Angeles County , California, from 1967 to 1982. In this capacity he carried out autopsies of the deceased, including famous personalities such as Marilyn Monroe , Robert F. Kennedy , Janis Joplin , Natalie Wood , Divine , Albert Dekker , William Holden , John Belushi and Sharon Tate .

Noguchi has taught at several colleges and was a professor at California State University and also at the University of California, Los Angeles , where he was director of the Institute of Pathology.

In 1999 he was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure for his services to forensics in Japan.
