Pat McCormick

Patrick McCormick (born June 30, 1927 in Lakewood (Ohio) , † July 29, 2005 in Woodland Hills , California ) was an American actor and comedy writer .

Career

McCormick enjoyed his greatest writing success in the 1960s and 70s when he wrote for famous comedians such as Henny Youngman , Phyllis Diller , Red Skelton and Bill Cosby . He had a major influence on the humor of the time. Occasionally he also appeared as a stand-up comedian, but had only moderate success. The almost two meter tall actor became really known in the 1970s and 80s through films such as Buffalo Bill and the Indians (as US President Grover Cleveland ) or A Boiled Rascal (as Big Enos Burdette , parts 1-3). He played mainly in comedies.

After suffering a stroke , McCormick retired from the film business in 1998. Seven years later he died at the age of 78. His grave is in Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills Cemetery .
