Manfred Schubert (cabaret artist)

Manfred Schubert (born August 6, 1927 in Dresden ) is a German cabaret artist .

Life

Manfred Schubert initially worked as a dramaturge at the Dresden Theater of the Young Generation and then worked as an editor at the state broadcaster Dresden. As a sideline, Schubert directed the amateur cabaret of the state broadcaster Die Funken , until he switched to the Berlin cabaret Die Drum , of which he was also director.

On May 1st 1961 he founded the professional cabaret Herkuleskeule . He led the Herkuleskeule until 1986 and then worked as a text writer and member of the ensemble.

In 1980 he was awarded the GDR Art Prize.

Manfred Schubert was a member of the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD).
