Gerhard Audorf
Gerhard Audorf (born February 20, 1927 in Stendal ; † December 15, 1999 in Berlin ) was a German athlete and civil engineer .
Sporting successes
- 1948: German champion (champion in the Trizone ) in the 400-meter run for the Berlin sports club
- 1949: ISTAF winner 800 meter run time: 1: 56.80 min for the Berliner SC
- 1950: German champion (champion in Germany ) in the 4 x 400 meter relay (Gerhard Audorf, Alfred Hochscheid , Günther Steines , Hubert Huppertz ) for the TSF Rot-Weiß Koblenz
- 1952: German champion (champion in Germany) in the 3 x 1000 meter relay ( Hans-Joachim Hennig , Gerhard Audorf, Olaf Lawrenz ) for the Berliner SC
At the 1948 Olympic Games in London Gerhard Audorf was due by the Second World War not participate conditional exclusion from Germany. As a result of a knee injury, he had to quit competitive sport shortly before the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki.
He set his personal best over 400 meters in 1950 in Stuttgart in 47.6 seconds. His best time over 800 meters was 1: 53.1 min, run in Hanover in 1949, and over 1000 meters at 2: 28.2 min, set up in Hamburg in 1949.
Life
Gerhard Audorf was married to Ruth Audorf (born Meseke, * December 31, 1927, † May 10, 2007), and has two children and four grandchildren.
Until his retirement, Gerhard Audorf worked as a civil engineer and branch manager in Berlin.
