Mario Abbate (born August 10, 1927 in Naples , † August 6, 1981 ) was an Italian singer and actor.

Mario Abbate performed publicly at the age of 12. After the Second World War he devoted himself to singing studies and in 1951 won a competition at RAI. He then joined the orchestra of Cinico Angelini as a singer . His career had peaked in the late 1950s. He took part in the Sanremo Festival in 1962 and 1963 . He became known through many Neapolitan songs, for example Mare verde . He also played himself in three films - E Napoli cana (1953) by Armando Grottini Accadde al commissariato (1954) by Giorgio Simonelli and Operazione San Gennar (1966) by Dino Risi together with Mario Adorf and the Neapolitan cult comedian Totò .

Abbate's discography spans hundreds of records. He was 53 years old.
