Armando Grottini

Armando Grottini (born June 22, 1909 in Rome , † December 9, 2001 in Rome) was an Italian film director and film production manager .

Life

Grottini was active in film since 1939. He started out as an assistant editor, became an assistant director and in this role was able to work with numerous important directors. Between 1950 and 1962 he was also involved in a number of works as production manager until he went to television, where he was an important link to the cinema for the organization of the feature films broadcast there. Between 1949 and 1953 Grottini also directed four films based on his own script, two of them under pseudonyms. Grottini last appeared in 1979 as an assistant director for Manaos - The Slave Drivers from the Amazon . He died at the age of 92 on December 9, 2001 in Rome, where he is also buried.
