Piet Kee (born August 30, 1927 in Zaandam , † May 25, 2018 in Haarlem ) was a Dutch organist and composer .

biography

Piet Kee was the son of Cor Kee and studied piano, organ and composition at the Amsterdam Conservatory . He won the prize at the international improvisation competition in Haarlem three times in a row (1953, 1954, 1955). From 1954 to 1988 he taught at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. From 1952 to 1987 he was the organist of the Laurenskirche in Alkmaar and from 1956 to 1989 the municipal organist of the Müller organ in the St. Bavo church in Haarlem. Kee composed especially organ, choir and carillon music.
