Patricia Snell

Patricia Snell (born June 30, 1927 in Leamington , Ontario ) is a Canadian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Snell studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. In 1949 she took part in the Opera Backstage , a group of musicians founded by Herman Geiger-Torel with the singers Mary Morrison , Joanne Ivey , Ernest Adams and Andrew MacMillan , the pianist and conductor George Crum and the manager Walter Homburger , with whom he excerpts performed from operas in western Canada. In 1951 she married George Crum.

Until 1960 Snell was a member of the Canadian Opera Company . Here she sang u. a. Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte (1953), Gilda in Rigoletto (1954), Violetta in La traviata (1955), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (1956) and Rosina in The Barber of Seville (1959).
