Bruno Martin Ernst Arthur Bartholome (born August 23, 1927 in Geschwenda ; † July 7, 1994 Suhl ) was a German athlete . He competed in marathon and cross-country runs .

biography

Bartholome won the gold medal in cross-country running at the GDR championships in 1951 . Two years later, he won the team championship.

In 1957 , 1959 , 1961 he was able to secure the national championship title in the marathon .

At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome , he finished 28th in the marathon .

Bartholome was an industrial clerk by profession . He later worked as an officer and organized sporting events.
