Martin Ransohoff
Martin Nelson Ransohoff (born July 7, 1927 in New Orleans , Louisiana - † December 13, 2017 in Bel-Air, Los Angeles , California ) was an American film producer .
Life and accomplishments
Ransohoff, born in 1927, graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton in the US state of New York in 1949 .
He founded the film production company Filmways TV Productions , which later in Filmways Inc. has been renamed. In 1972 he left her. In his professional career he has produced over 35 films, and he also worked on the script for three films.
His works include: the Oscar- winning film drama ... All Desires (1965) by director Vincente Minnelli with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor in the lead roles, the adventure film Cincinnati Kid (1965) by Norman Jewison with Steve McQueen , the horror film The Black 13 (1966) by J. Lee Thompson with Deborah Kerr and David Niven , the horror comedy Tanz der Vampire (1967) by Roman Polański with Jack MacGowran , the two-time Oscar-nominated adventure film Ice Station Zebra (1968) by John Sturges with Rock Hudson and Ernest Borgnine , the war film The Castle in the Ardennes (1969) by Sydney Pollack with Burt Lancaster , the black comedy Catch-22 - The Bad Trick (1970) by Mike Nichols with Alan Arkin , the Comedy Class (1983) with Jacqueline Bisset and Rob Lowe , the 1987 drama Chicago Blues starring Matt Dillon , Diane Lane and Tommy Lee Jones ; and Robert Butler's 1997 thriller Turbulence starring Ray Liotta .
He was married twice and had four children and two stepchildren.
