Death Comes Quiet (Fuzz) is an American crime comedy from 1972 . Directed by Richard A. Colla , the screenplay was written by Ed McBain based on his own novel Die Greifer (original title: Fuzz ).
action
Police investigators Steve Carella, Bert Kling and Meyer Meyer belong to a special unit at the 87th Police Station to which the police officer Eileen McHenry is assigned. You are investigating a series of murders committed by a Deaf Man and his gang with bombs. First a commissioner is killed, then a local politician. The bombers demand a large sum of money and threaten to kill the mayor. During this time, the special unit also investigates a rapist and other criminals who are active in a park.
The police set a trap for Deaf Man , Carella and Meyer wait for him dressed as a nun. The action does not succeed. Deaf Man blows up the politician's house and wants to celebrate the crime with alcohol. In the shop he runs into Carella and Meyer, who catch him after an exchange of fire.
Reviews
Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times of July 11, 1972 that the film was one of the nicest police films in a long time. He is unconventional, funny and cheerful in a calm way. The numerous storylines would be reminiscent of MASH by Robert Altman . Ebert praised the performance of the actors.
Rotten Tomatoes wrote that the film was a clever mix of humor and suspense.
