Jacques R. Marquette

Jacques R. Marquette (born January 26, 1915 in Brooklyn , New York City , † July 12, 1999 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American cinematographer and film producer.

Life

Jacques R. Marquette was born in New York City. At the age of four, the family moved to Los Angeles in 1919, where he later graduated from Hollywood High School . He then worked as an assistant to his older brother who worked as a news cameraman. During the Second World War he worked as a cameraman for the United States Air Force . He then accepted an offer for $ 69 a week to become a technician at Techni color Labs . He founded his own production company, Marquette Productions , in 1957 to produce low budget films . In the same year he made his debut as chief cameraman for the horror film The Eyes of Satan directed by Nathan Juran . In 1958 he made his only film as a director, Teenage Monster .
