Werner Erich Biel (born November 25, 1927 in Saarbrücken , † January 16, 2006 in Riegelsberg ) was a German rower who competed for the Saarland .
biography
Werner Biel was a member of the Saarland delegation at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki . Together with Hanns Peters and the brothers Hans and Joachim Krause-Wichmann , he started in a four without a helmsman . The crew won their lead against the favored boats from Italy and Norway. In the semi-finals and in the repechage, however, the four rowers were narrowly defeated and thus missed the final.
