biography

Hanns Peters was a member of the Saarland delegation at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki . Together with Werner Biel and the brothers Hans and Joachim Krause-Wichmann , he started in a four without a helmsman . The crew won their lead against the favored boats from Italy and Norway. In the semi-finals and in the repechage, however, the four rowers were narrowly defeated and thus missed the final.

In 1955 Peters converted to the Catholic Church and was appointed to the Pastoral Council of the German Catholic Community in Paris in 1966. From 1970 to 1972 he was pastor in Stuttgart-Botnang and from 1972 to 1979 in Kehl . In 1982 he worked for the parish of St. Karl Borromäus in the Munich district of Fürstenried , where he held various offices.
