Ahmed Hikmet
Ahmed Hikmet Müftüoğlu (* 1870 in Istanbul ; † 1927 there ) was a Turkish poet and writer. For the Ottoman Empire he worked as a diplomat in various missions abroad. In 1896 he returned to Istanbul, where he joined the Young Ottoman movement. The short story "Haristan ve Gülistan" (Dornenhag und Rosenhain), which is dedicated to the situation of Turkish women in the time before the Young Turkish Revolution in 1908, was translated into German in 1907 as one of the first modern Turkish stories by Friedrich Schrader .
