Könnigde is a district of the town of Bismark (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).
geography
The Altmark village Könnigde is located 3 km southeast of the town Bismark (Altmark) and about 22 km west of Stendal . The hilly and wooded area around Könnigde belongs to the terminal moraine arch that extends north of the Secantsgraben towards Stendal. In the south, the Könnigdes area borders on the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel.
history
The village was first mentioned as Kongede in the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 . The Wendish word konje (= horse) was assumed to be the origin of the name.
After the end of the Thirty Years' War on October 9, 1648, the Rittmeister Joachim Hennigs acquired the Königde estate. In 1675, after the Battle of Fehrbellin, he was raised to the nobility by the Great Elector for his military services (from 1676 he called himself Joachim Hennigs von Treffenfeld ). The warrior's coat of arms is still part of the municipal coat of arms today.
The Könnigder Heimatverein (founded in 1998) is particularly dedicated to the Altmark rider general Hennigs von Treffenfeld.
Until December 31, 2009, Könnigde was an independent municipality. The municipality council of the municipality of Könnigde decided on June 25, 2009 to approve an area change agreement, which dissolved their municipality and became part of a new unified municipality called the city of Bismark (Altmark) . This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.
A local council with three members including the local mayor is formed in the municipality that has been incorporated and is now the village of Könnigde.

The pulpit and the altarpiece were created by court sculptor Gustav Kuntzsch from Wernigerode .
