Holzhausen is a district of the town of Bismark (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).
geography
The village of Holzhausen is located south of the town of Bismark (Altmark) , west of Stendal and east of Kalbe (Milde) . In the south of the municipality, the Secantsgraben forms the border with the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel . Holzhausen lies on the terminal moraine arch that stretches from Kremkau in an eastward direction to Stendal.
history
On September 30, 1928 the manor district of Holzhausen was united with the rural community of Holzhausen. Until December 31, 2009 Holzhausen was an independent municipality and belonged to the now dissolved administrative community Bismark / Kläden .
The municipality council of the municipality of Holzhausen decided on June 11, 2009 to approve an area change agreement, whereby their municipality was dissolved and part of a new unified municipality called the city of Bismark (Altmark) . This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.
A local council with five members including the local mayor is formed in the incorporated municipality and now the village of Holzhausen.
