Deetz is a district of the town of Bismark (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt and belongs to the town of Querstedt in the town of Bismark.

geography

The Altmark village of Deetz is located 13 kilometers west of the district town of Stendal on the small river Uchte .

The municipality included two outworks / living spaces : Deetzerwarthe in 1871 with seven residents and pitcher as well as Wilhelmshof in the same year with 19 inhabitants.

history

In 1238 Deditz iuxta Landwere - 'Deetz near Landwehr ' (see also Deetzer Warte ) was first mentioned in a document. Originally, Count Siegfried von Osterburg was enfeoffed by the St. Ludgerikloster Helmstedt . The Deetz manor in the south of the village, which is eligible for parliament, was the ancestral seat of the Dequede family until the end of the 18th century . After several changes of ownership, it came to von Kröcher in the 19th century . The manor was dissolved between 1890 and 1910.

Incorporations

On 25 July 1952, the community was the district Gardelegen in the district Stendal reclassified. On July 1, 1973 the municipality of Deetz was dissolved by incorporation into the municipality of Querstedt . Since January 1, 2010, the Deetz district has also been part of the newly formed Querstedt district of the city of Bismark (Altmark). The residential area of ​​the same name, which today belongs to Käthen, arose from the former Vorwerk Deetzerwarte.
