Kremkau is a district of the town of Bismark (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).
geography
The Altmark village of Kremkau is located west of Stendal and north of Gardelegen . In the west of the district, the Secantsgraben forms the border with the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel , in the south with the Börde district . Kremkau itself is somewhat elevated, the terminal moraine arc that begins here continues eastwards to Stendal, 30 km away.
history
Until December 31, 2009, Kremkau was an independent municipality.
The municipal council of the municipality of Kremkau decided on June 11, 2009 to approve a territorial change agreement, which dissolved their municipality and became part of a new unified municipality called the city of Bismark (Altmark) . This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.
A local council with five members including the local mayor is formed in the incorporated municipality and now the locality of Kremkau.

The road from Bismark (Altmark) to Gardelegen leads through Kremkau . Another country road runs via Neuendorf am Damm to Kalbe (Milde) . The nearest train station is in Hohenwulsch, 11 km away ( Stendal - Salzwedel line ).
