Schinne is a district of the town of Bismark (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).
geography
Schinne in the Altmark is about twelve kilometers northwest of Stendal. The undulating area around Schinne is drained from the Speckgraben , which forms the northern and eastern boundary of the district, to the Uchte . Neighboring places are Rochau in the north, Stendal in the east and Bismark (Altmark) in the south and west. The place is also a primary school location for the surrounding towns.
history
In 1158 the place was first mentioned as Scinne . The field stone church in Schinne, one of the oldest German foundations in the Altmark , also dates from this time .
On September 30, 1928, the manor district of Schinne was united with the rural community of Schinne.
From 1807 to 1813, the canton of Schinne existed within the Kingdom of Westphalia .
After the dissolution of the administrative community Bismark / Kläden on January 1, 2010 and until it was incorporated into the town of Bismark (Altmark) on September 1, 2010, Schinne was co-administered by Bismark (Altmark).
coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved by the district on October 19, 2009.
Blazon : “Split between gold and red; at the front of the gap half a green clover leaf angled with black flights, behind three golden ears of corn with two stalk leaves each, the one on the left with a bent stalk and lowered ear. "
Schinne decided to refer to the two existing districts Schinne and Pödderitz - as well as to a third, orally handed down district called Gladigau - as well as to the von Borstell family in the coat of arms symbolism. While the core village of Schinne was first mentioned in a document as early as 1188, the new district of Pödderitz was not created until 1895 with the construction of the residential building on farm no. 75 (Hauptstrasse 8). The districts are expressed by three ears of wheat, of which the Gladigau district, which has only been passed down orally, is symbolized by the broken ear. On August 25, 2009, the municipal council decided on the current coat of arms, which was designed by the local heraldist Jörg Mantzsch , from several coats of arms motifs that were presented.

Schinne is not far from the L 15, the connecting road from Bismark (Altmark) to Stendal. Regular buses and on-call buses run by Regionalverkehr Westsachsen (RVW) under the brand name stendalbus . Schinne was on the way to stop on the Peulingen – Bismark line operated by the Stendaler Kleinbahn . Since the cessation of operations in 1950, the nearest train station has been in Steinfeld (Altmark) five kilometers away on the Stendal - Salzwedel railway line .
carnival
The Schinner Carneval Club, or SCC for short, is located in the village. The SCC was founded in 1971 and has been active in the foolish events of the Altmark ever since. There is neither a penalty council nor a pair of princes at the SCC. In 2011 the SCC celebrated its 40th anniversary and is offering five events for the first time. The active members, as well as selected members of friendly associations, are awarded with handmade medals.
