Location of Dobberkau in Saxony-Anhalt

Dobberkau is a district of the town of Bismark (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).

The Altmark village Dobberkau is located about halfway between Stendal and Salzwedel , seven kilometers from the small town of Bismark (Altmark) away. At the edge of the Altmärkische Höhe ( Kiesberg 52 meters above sea level) the terrain gradually slopes down west of Dobberkau to the Markgraben and Milde .

Local division

The districts Dobberkau and Möllenbeck belong to the village of Dobberkau .

The Slavic settlement Doberkow , mentioned around 850, is probably today's Dobberkau, whose name appears for the first time in 1267 in a document.

Until December 31, 2009 Dobberkau was an independent municipality.

The municipality council of the municipality Dobberkau decided on June 23, 2009 to approve an area change agreement, whereby their municipality was dissolved and part of a new unified municipality called the city of Bismark (Altmark) . This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 1, 2010.

A local council with five members including the local mayor is formed in the incorporated municipality and now the village of Dobberkau.

The last mayor of the Dobberkau community was Dieter Wein.

Transport links

Dobberkau is a bit off the national traffic connections. A country road runs from Dobberkau via Hohenwulsch to Bismark (Altmark) on the L 15 ( Stendal - Kalbe ). In addition, Dobberkau owned a train station until 1950 on the Peulingen – Bismark line operated by the Stendaler Kleinbahn . Since the cessation of operations, the nearest train station has been in the neighboring town of Hohenwulsch ( Stendal – Uelzen railway line ).
