Hans Bardens

Hans Bardens (born January 26, 1927 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ; † March 20, 2003 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Bundestag from 1965 to 1983 .

Life

Bardens took part in World War II as a soldier from 1943 to 1945 . After the war he studied medicine and worked as an assistant doctor at various hospitals. In 1961 he established himself as a general practitioner .

From 1968 to 1975 he was a member of the group parallel , an association of artists and scientists. From 1969 to 1989 he was chairman of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt- Stadtkreisverband in Ludwigshafen and was particularly committed to integration issues.

He was married and had two children. The doctor David Bardens is his grandson.

Bardens was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1983 and was elected directly in the Ludwigshafen constituency. He was chairman of the “Health Policy” working group in the Bundestag. From 1976 to 1983 he was also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe . From 1980 to 1983 he was an observer and reporter on domestic political developments in Turkey .

From 1979 to 1994 Bardens was a member of the Ludwigshafen city council and there spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group in the hospital committee.

Political party

Bardens joined the SPD in 1946. From 1968 to 1986 he was chairman of the working group of social democratic doctors and pharmacists.
