Clara Bertha Friederike "Babette" von Bülow , pseud. Hans Arnold , geb. Eberty , (born September 30, 1850 in Warmbrunn , Lower Silesia , † March 8, 1927 in Arendsee, today a district of Kühlungsborn , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ) was a German author of short stories , comedies and swans .

Life

She was born as the daughter of the lawyer, writer and amateur astronomer Felix Eberty (1812-1884), professor at the University of Breslau , and Marie Hasse in Silesia and grew up in Breslau . She received her education in Breslau and in a French boarding school. On June 10, 1876, she married the later royal Prussian lieutenant colonel Adolf von Bülow (born April 29, 1851 at Gut Dietrichshagen near Warnemünde ; † June 25, 1932 in Breitbrunn, now part of Herrsching am Ammersee ), the son of the landowner Herrmann von Bülow (1820–1870), landlord of Dietrichshagen, and Marie Erdmann (1830–1893).

Through her husband's military service, she lived in different garrisons , including a. 1891 in Engers am Rhein, 1893 in Hanover , 1896 in Erfurt , 1900 in Frankfurt (Oder) , 1902 in Potsdam and from 1905 again in Erfurt. She was personally acquainted with Theodor Fontane .
