Jeannette Charles

Jeannette Charles (born October 15, 1927 ) is a British double from Queen Elizabeth II.

Career

Charles, who trained as an actress , was determined to play this role early on because of her resemblance to the British Queen. From 1971 she portrayed this in various films , television series and television shows, including in The Rutles , Eric Idle's parody of the Beatles . With him she appeared on American television on Saturday Night Live . She had her most famous appearance on the side of Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Cannon . She also played Gold Stand and Help the Americans Come to Austin Powerswith Chevy Chase and appeared in advertising campaigns for The Who , Status Quo and Queen among others . In 1976, Charles was invited by Rudi Carrell to appear in the show On the Run . It could be booked for private and public events.

Charles published the book The Queen and I in 1986 . In 2014, she announced that she was going out of business. The reason for retirement is arthritis .
