Champlin is a city in the US state of Minnesota . It is located in the north of Hennepin County and has around 22,200 inhabitants.

Champlin is located approximately 23 kilometers northwest of downtown Minneapolis in the metropolitan area of ​​Minneapolis-Saint Paul . The city is located on the Mississippi River , which is the city limit in the northeast. history

The first permanent settlement in what is now Champlins was established in 1852. On May 11, 1858, the Camplin Township was established. A year later it was divided into two townships, the Champlin and Dayton Townships.

An independent village was founded within the Champlin township on October 14, 1946 , and in 1971 the township and village became the town of Champlin. As in many other suburbs of the Twin Cities, the population grew rapidly in the second half of the 20th century.
