Plymouth is a city (with the status " City ") in Hennepin County in the US -amerikanischen State Minnesota . In 2010 Plymouth had 70,576 residents.
Plymouth is the seventh largest city in Minnesota and part of the metropolitan area of Minneapolis-Saint Paul (Twin Cities).

Plymouth is a western suburb of Minneapolis with the city center 17 km to the east. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city of Plymouth extends over 91.5 km².
history
The first inhabitants of what is now Plymouth were the Dakota . The first European settler was Antoine LeCounte. He first came to the region in 1848, but did not settle there until 1852. After new immigrants had settled, the township of Plymouth was founded in 1858. It only became a village in 1954, and in 1974 Plymouth received city rights.
