Ladislas Lazaro (born June 5, 1872 in Ville Platte , Evangeline Parish , Louisiana , †  March 30, 1927 in Washington, DC ) was an American politician . Between 1913 and 1927 he represented the state of Louisiana in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Ladislas Lazaro attended both public and private schools and then Holy Cross College in New Orleans . He then studied until 1894 at the Medical College in Louisville ( Kentucky ) medicine. After his admission as a medic, he practiced as a doctor in Washington (Louisiana) until 1913 . At the same time he was also active in agriculture. Lazaro was also a member of the school council in his home district.

Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1908 and 1912 he was a member of the Louisiana Senate . In the 1912 congressional elections , Lazaro was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington in the seventh constituency of his state, where he succeeded Arsène Pujo on March 4, 1913 . After seven re-elections, he could remain in Congress until his death on March 30, 1927 . During this time the First World War fell . In addition, the 16th , 17th , 18th and 19th amendments to the Constitution were passed between 1913 and 1920 .

Ladislas Lazaro was buried in his native Ville Platte.
