Nathaniel D. Wallace

Nathaniel Dick Wallace (born October 27, 1845 in Columbia , Maury County , Tennessee , †  July 16, 1894 in Asheville , North Carolina ) was an American politician . Between 1886 and 1887 he represented the state of Louisiana in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Nathaniel Wallace attended the common schools and studied afterwards until 1865 at Trinity College in Dublin ( Ireland ). On his return to the United States in 1867, he worked in the commission business in New Orleans . He was twice president of the New Orleans Produce Exchange . He was also involved in the trade.

Politically, Wallace was a member of the Democratic Party . After the death of MP Michael Hahn , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , when he was due for the second election of Louisiana , where he took his seat on December 9, 1886. By March 3, 1887, he ended the current term of his predecessor in Congress . In the regular congressional elections of 1886, he no longer ran.

Between 1886 and his death in 1894, Nathaniel Wallace was President of Consumers Ice Co. in New Orleans. He died on July 16, 1894 near Asheville and was then buried in New Orleans.
