Joseph E. Ransdell

Joseph Eugene Ransdell (born October 7, 1858 in Alexandria , Louisiana , † July 27, 1954 in Lake Providence , Louisiana) was an American politician . From 1899 to 1913 he represented the state of Louisiana in the US House of Representatives for the Democratic Party . From 1913 to 1931 he was represented for Louisiana in the US Senate .

Ransdell was also an entrepreneur. In 1920 he founded a printing company in Washington, DC . In 1931, after his time as a senator, he returned to Louisiana and took part in a cotton and pecan plantation and became a real estate agent.
