William C. Feazel

William Crosson Feazel (born June 10, 1895 - † March 16, 1965 ) was a Senator for the US state of Louisiana . Born near Farmerville in Union Parish , he graduated from public schools and worked as an independent oil and gas producer.

Feazel was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1932 to 1936. He was appointed to the Senate by Governor Earl Kemp Long on May 18, 1948, as a member of the Democratic Party to fill the void created by the death of John H. Overton . Feazel consented and held office from May 18 to December 30, 1948. He did not vote for the vacancy in the Senate and returned to the oil and gas business in Monroe and Shreveport . He was a resident of West Monroe and died in Shreveport in 1965; the funeral was in Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe. His seat in the Senate went to his successor Russell B. Long , also a member of the Democratic Party and son of Huey P. Long .
