Ahmad Jawed

Ahmad Jawed ([ ˈdʒwed ] means "the Eternal"; * January 1, 1927 in Kabul , Afghanistan , † July 31, 2002 in London ) was an Afghan literary scholar and peace educator .

biography

Ahmad Jawed attended the primary school in the old town of Kabul and later the renowned Habibia Lycée Habibia High School or Lessa e Habibia , founded in 1904 by Amir Habibullah Khan and named after him , which is located opposite the Zarnegar Park near Pol e Bagh e Ommuni ( Public garden by the bridge).

Jawed began his studies in political science (then and now also part of law studies) as well as Persian language and literature at the philological faculty of Kabul University in 1943 . After the second semester, he continued his studies with a focus on literature at the University of Tehran.

After completing his master's degree, he returned to Kabul in 1950. There he initially worked as a lecturer at the local university and was broadcasting director a. a. for cultural broadcasts on Radio Kabul . Jawed received his doctorate in 1957 from Tehran University in the subject of Persian language and literature and then returned to Kabul.

During his studies and doctorate, Jawed met many scholars and colleagues in the language and literature of Dari such as Ali Akbar Dehchoda , Zabihollah Safa , Mohammad Moien, Jalal Homai, Sayd Nafassi, Esatullah Omayon Far, Ali Asghar Hekmat and other luminaries of his guild.

Jawed dedicated himself to spreading and improving the quality of life in the cultural field throughout his life. He also earned merit in the area of gender [ ˈdʒɛndɚ ]. During his engagement with Radio Afghanistan and under the direction of the all-round talent Afandi Abdul Ghafor Breschna , a student of Max Liebermann was able to. a. the song "Gulfrosch" (here flower seller) by the first Afghan singer Mermon Parwin will be broadcast on Radio Kabul. The song was directed at her husband and was in response to his allegation that his illegitimate divorced wife was "selling" herself.

In 1972, Jawed was rector of the University of Kabul and in 1986 he was awarded the highest title of the Academy of Sciences of Afghanistan. Jawed was a member of the Friendship Commission between Afghanistan and the UN (UNESCO). He was an honorary member of the Afghan writers' association PEN and held many other titles and awards.

During the war and at the end of Dr. Najibullah he had to leave his homeland and sought asylum in England. Even in exile he was committed to literature and language, especially the dari. His merits in the field of culture and literature:

The Afghan Writers' Association had a sculpture made and presented it to the Afghan ambassador with the request that he send it to Afghanistan. A poem that took place during a homage in Frankfurt on the fifth anniversary of death in 2007 reads
