Marcel Mart
Marcel Mart (born May 10, 1927 in Esch-Uelzecht ; † November 15, 2019 ) was a Luxembourg journalist and politician .
Life
Marcel Mart was a politician in the Democratic Party and from 1969 to 1974 in the Werner-Schaus II government, Minister for Economy, Small Business, Tourism and Energy. From 1977 he became a member of the European Court of Auditors , from 1984 to December 1989 its President. From 1990 to 1993 he was court marshal at the Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg.
He was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Banque générale du Luxembourg (1993–2005) and the Société des foires internationales de Luxembourg (1994–2000).
Marcel Mart was the brother of former MEP René Mart (1925–1990) and the father of journalist Caroline Mart (* 1960).
