Anton Jaumann
Anton Jaumann (born December 5, 1927 in Belzheim ; † January 23, 1994 in Munich ) was a German lawyer and politician of the CSU .
Life
After attending elementary school, the Progymnasium Oettingen and the Realgymnasium in Nördlingen , Jaumann was called up for the Reich Labor Service and the Wehrmacht. After military service and imprisonment, he graduated from high school in 1948. Jaumann initially wanted to be a priest and studied theology in Dillingen , but then moved to Würzburg , studied economics and law and ran his own law firm in Munich from 1957 to 1966. From 1958 to 1963 he was also the managing director of the regional association of Bavarian wholesale and foreign trade .
From 1958 to 1990 Anton Jaumann was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . 1963 to 1967 he also held the office of Secretary General of the CSU . From December 5, 1966 to December 8, 1970 he was State Secretary in the State Ministry of Finance , then until June 3, 1988 Bavarian State Minister for Economics and Transport . During his tenure as Transport Minister, the planning approval procedures and the start of construction on Munich Airport fell .
He was an advocate of ecumenism . The first Rieser Kulturtage (they came about on the initiative of Jaumann) opened in 1976 in the historic Auhausen monastery church with the first ecumenical service in Bavaria, celebrated by two bishops. For decades, Jaumann was on friendly terms with the concelebrants Josef Stimpfle , Catholic bishop of Augsburg, and Johannes Hanselmann , Protestant regional bishop of Bavaria; both bishops came from the denominationally divided Ries. Jaumann built an Antonius chapel in his home town of Belzheim and campaigned for the renovation of the parish church “St. Michael “a.

- Naming of the Anton-Jaumann-Realschule in Wemding , Donau-Ries district
- Naming of the innovation prize of the Junge Union Schwaben, which is awarded every two and is associated with 1,500 euros in prize money, as the Anton Jaumann innovation prize (since 2010 a special craft prize has also been awarded).
- Winner of the Rieser Heimatpreis, awarded in 1993
Foundation, endowment
The foundation “Anton Jaumann” for the care of church music was founded in 1997 by his widow Margarete Jaumann according to his wishes. It supports choirs and ensembles of both denominations.
