Luigi Malerba

Luigi Malerba (born November 11, 1927 as Luigi Bonardi in Berceto , Parma province , † May 8, 2008 in Rome ) was an Italian writer , journalist and screenwriter . In addition to short stories and novels , he also wrote radio and television plays .

Life

Malerba received the laureate in law and ran an advertising agency for years.

Together with Umberto Eco and others he founded the literary association Gruppo 63, which is part of the Italian Neoavanguardia , and lived in Rome and Orvieto . He started out as a screenwriter and turned away from Italian neorealismo at an early age . In his short stories and novels he developed a satirical-grotesque style that plays with narrative structures. His texts often analyze the interplay between power and corruption. Other subject areas were the varieties of Catholicism and the look behind the mirror of “Being and Appearance”. His books have been translated into many languages ​​and received worldwide.

As a co-director he was responsible for a feature film and a documentary based on his own script.
