Gruppo 63
Gruppo 63 was a group of writers belonging to the Italian literary movement Neoavanguardia , founded in Palermo in October 1963 and dissolved in 1969. The group emerged from the extended circle of writers, poets, critics and theorists who had already published works in the anthology manifesto I Novissimi in 1961, which correspond to the Italian literary tradition, e.g. B. was critical of Neorealismo .
The Gruppo 63 endeavored to expand the traditional content and forms of expression of the Italian literature of the 1950s that were perceived as schematic , but was criticized as "elitist and cerebral" due to its complex communication codes and its aristocratically distant approach. Based on the ideas of Marxism and structuralism , but without fixed rules or manifestos, there were formal and content-related experiments that were ignored by the broader public, but followed closely in the literary-critical atmosphere. Also known are the polemics against "established" authors like Carlo Cassola and Vasco Pratolini , who were ironically referred to by the group as "lial", a reference to Liala , author of romance and family novels .
Members of the group were Alberto Arbasino , Luciano Anceschi , Nanni Balestrini , Achille Bonito Oliva , Alfredo Giuliani , Giorgio Celli , Furio Colombo , Corrado Costa , Roberto Di Marco , Umberto Eco , Enrico Filippini, Alberto Gozzi , Angelo Guglielmi , Luigi Malerba , Giorgio Manganelli , Giulia Niccolai , Elio Pagliarani , Antonio Porta , Lamberto Pignotti , Edoardo Sanguineti , Adriano Spatola , Sebastiano Vassalli and Michele Perriera .
The group edited, among others, the magazines Malebenue , Quindici and Grammatica .
