Aloys Felke (born February 20, 1927 in Laufersweiler ; † January 13, 1997 in Sohren ) was a German entrepreneur and politician in Rhineland-Palatinate . He was a member of the state parliament for the CDU .

Life

Aloys Felke was born as the eldest of three sons of the Hunsrück entrepreneur Michael Felke in Laufersweiler in the Hunsrück. In 1933 he and his family moved to neighboring Sohren , where his father set up a furniture production company. From 1944 Felke was stationed as a soldier in France. From 1945 to 1948 he was an American and then a French prisoner of war. In 1949 he was able to catch up on his Abitur. From 1952 to 1956, Aloys Felke studied business administration at the University of Cologne . In addition to his two brothers Walter and Günter Felke , he joined his father's company, Felke Möbelwerke, as a business graduate in 1956 . Until 1970 his uncle Franz Felke was also the technical director of the plants there. Aloys Felke was married and the father of two children.

Political career

Since the beginning of the 1960s, Aloys Felke has been increasingly active in local politics. From 1960 to 1969 he was a member of the district council in the former district of Zell and from 1969 to 1974 in the district council of the Rhein-Hunsrück district . In 1965 Felke was a founding member and deputy chairman of the CDU local association Sohren- Büchenbeuren, which initially comprised 13 communities and from 1971 chaired the local association

1969-1971 Felke was Member of Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate and represented there as substitutes by Klaus Bremm the Rhine-Hunsrück.

As part of the regional reform in 1970, Felke campaigned within the Sohren-Büchenbeuren community and as a member of the state parliament in Mainz for the establishment of the large community of Kirchberg-Sohren-Büchenbeuren , for which he was heavily criticized in Sohren and Büchenbeuren. As a representative of the Sohren-Büchenbeuren community, he voted against the “pro VG” resolution drafted by the administration at a meeting of the community representatives. He positioned himself against the preservation of the Sohren-Büchenbeuren community by incorporating the neighboring communities of Laufersweiler, Krummenau and Horbruch. In addition to Felke, only one other representative of the association voted against the resolution, which was adopted by the local council with a large majority. Felke justified his position by saying that one had to follow “the general trend towards merging and expanding”.

After the resolution of the regional reform in December of the same year, the administration was relocated to Kirchberg despite the municipal council resolution of the resolution “pro VG”. Aloys Felke was elected the first alderman of the new Kirchberg Association, whose office he held until his death in 1997.

Felke was also a member of the supervisory board of the Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse Zell-Simmern and the Volksbank Kirchberg and, from 1970, the church tax council of the diocese of Trier .
