The place, a small settlement with 35 inhabitants, lies at an altitude of 700 to 720 meters directly on the western border with the Czech Republic . The 759 m high Kapellenberg , which belongs to the Elster Mountains , rises about 1 km to the southeast .

history

Bärendorf belonged to the Voigtsberg office until the 19th century . In 1950 the place was incorporated into Hohendorf , with which the place came to Bad Brambach in 1974.
