The judicial district Tannwald ( Czech : soudní okres Tanvald ) was a judicial district subordinate to the district court Tannwald in the crown land of Bohemia . It included areas in the western part of northern Bohemia. The center and seat of the judicial district was the city of Tannwald (Tanvald). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1991 .

history

The original patrimonial jurisdiction was abolished in the Austrian Empire after the revolutionary years of 1848/49 . They were replaced by the district, regional and higher regional courts, which were planned according to the principles of the Minister of Justice and whose creation was approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I on July 6, 1849 . The judicial district of Tannwald (initially also "Morchenstern") initially belonged to the Bunzlauer Kreis and in 1854 included the eight cadastral communities Albrechtsdorf, Georgenthal, Morchenstern, Polaun, Přichovic, Neidlic, Schumburg and Tannwald. In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district Tannwald together with the judicial district Gablonz an der Neisse (Jablonec nad Nisou) formed the district Gablonz an der Neisse .

In the judicial district of Tannwald there were 21,100 people in 1869, in 1900 there were 29,229 people.

The Tannwald judicial district had a population of 31,682 in 1910, of whom 28,144 stated German (88.8%) and 3,175 Czech (10.0%) as the colloquial language. There were also 363 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the judicial district.

Due to the border provisions of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Tannwald became part of the newly founded Czechoslovakia , with the division of courts essentially remaining in place until 1938. After the Munich Agreement , the area was added to the district of Gablonz on the Neisse . After the Second World War, the area belonged to the Okres Jablonec nad Nisou , but its authorities lost their administrative powers as part of an administrative reform in 2003. Since then, these have been perceived by the municipalities or the Liberecký kraj , and the area around Tannwald has belonged to the beginning of the 21st century.

At the end of 1914, the court district comprised the eight communities Albrechtsdorf (Albrechtice), Antoniwald (Antonínov), Dessendorf (Desná), Morchenstern (Smržovka), Polaun (Polubný), Schumburg an der Desse (Šumburk nad Desnou), Stephansruh (Příchovice) and Tannwald ( Tanvald).
