The judicial district Reichenberg ( Czech : soudní okres Liberec ) was a judicial district subordinate to the district court Reichenberg in the crown land of Bohemia . It included areas in the north of Bohemia in the Okres Liberec . The center of the judicial district was the city of Reichenberg (Liberec). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1991 .

history

The original patrimonial jurisdiction was abolished in the Austrian Empire after the revolutionary years of 1848/49 . They were replaced by the district, regional and higher regional courts, which were planned according to the principles of the Minister of Justice and whose creation was approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I on July 6, 1849 . The judicial district of Reichenberg initially belonged to the Bunzlau district and in 1854 comprised the 27 cadastral communities Althabendorf, Altharzdorf, Altpaulsdorf, Berzdorf, Dörfel, Eichicht, Friedrichswald, Heinersdorf, Jaberlich, Jermanic, Katharinberg, Kunnersdorf, Langenbruck, Lubokey, Mahmffersdorf near Reichenberg, Maffichersdorf (Böhmischersdorf ), Münkendorf, Oberhanichen, Ratschendorf, Reichenberg, Rosenthal I, Rosenthal II, Röchlitz, Ruppersdorf, Schimsdorf, Schönborn and Voigtsbach.

In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868 onwards, the judicial district Reichenberg together with the judicial district Kratzau (Chrastava) formed the district Reichenberg .

In the judicial district of Reichenberg there were 62,840 people in 1869, compared to 90,440 in 1900.

The judicial district of Reichenberg had a population of 100,157 in 1910, of which 90,834 gave German (90.7%) and 7,230 Czech (7.2%) as the colloquial language. There were also 2,093 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the judicial district.

Due to the border provisions of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Reichenberg came completely to the newly founded Czechoslovakia , with the court division essentially remaining in place until 1938. After the Munich Agreement , the area was part of the district of Reichenberg or the Sudetenland .

After the Second World War, the area became part of the Okres Liberec , to which it still belongs today. After the district authorities lost their administrative powers in the course of an administrative reform in 2003, these are taken over by the municipalities or the Liberecký kraj , and the area around Liberec has been amalgamated with other districts since the beginning of the 21st century.
