history

The Voigtsbach settlement belonging to the Reichenberg lordship was first mentioned in 1559 in the Reichenberg town book. At that time the village consisted of 14 farms, four gardeners and seven cottagers. The place was in the border area to the rule Friedland , which owned the surrounding forests. Voigtsbach was the seat of a stately bailiff, the Vogtshof was today's property No. 11. The owners were the lords of Redern .

After the Battle of the White Mountain , Christoph von Redern's goods were confiscated and handed over to Albrecht von Waldstein . After his murder, Matthias von Gallas received the rule. His descendants and, from 1757 onwards, the Clam-Gallas line of counts owned the lands until they were expropriated in 1945. From 1700 on, schooling took place in a private house in Einsiedl . The village to the church of St. Nikolaus in Einsiedl was parish.

After the abolition of patrimonial Voigtsbach formed from 1850 with the settlements Bethelehem and Hasengrund a political community in the Reichenberg district. After a series of devastating floods in the Jizera Mountains between 1846 and 1888, a small dam on Voigtsbach was built below the village between 1904 and 1906. In 1865 a chapel was built in the center of the village. There were also two other chapels in Voigtsbach. One was on the old pilgrimage path at homestead No. 4 and was demolished in 1960. Another chapel, built in 1883, stood at court no. 51, and this too did not survive the period of socialism . From 1873 lessons were given in a branch of the Einsiedler school in Voigsbach and in the following year a second class was set up for the 175 children of the village. In 1920 teaching in Voigtsbach was discontinued. In 1924 the community sold the Betlém settlement to the Buschullersdorf community .

In 1930 Voigtsbach had 720 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , the community was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Reichenberg district until 1945 . In 1939, 676 people lived in Voigtsbach. After the Second World War, the expulsion of the German population began. At the beginning of 1961 Fojtka was incorporated into Mníšek and at the same time assigned to the Okres Liberec after the dissolution of the Okres Liberec-okolí. In 1991 the place had 137 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 71 houses in which 198 people lived.

In 2003, construction of the Ypsilon Golf Resort Liberec began south of the Fojtka dam . The 102 hectare golf course , opened in 2005, is an 18-hole course, designed by the English landscaper Keith Preston.
