The judicial district of Winterberg ( Czech : soudní okres Vimperk ) was a judicial district in the Crown Land of Bohemia, which was subordinate to the District Court of Winterberg . It included areas in South Bohemia in the Okres Prachatice . The center of the judicial district was the city of Winterberg (Vimperk). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1991 .

history

The original patrimonial jurisdiction was abolished in the Austrian Empire after the revolutionary years of 1848/49 . They were replaced by the district, regional and higher regional courts, which were planned according to the principles of the Minister of Justice and whose creation was approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I on July 6, 1849 . The judicial district of Winterberg initially belonged to the Pisek district and in 1854 comprised 69 cadastral communities.

The judicial district of Winterberg formed in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868 together with the judicial districts Prachatitz (Prachatice) and Netolitz (Netolice) the district Prachatitz . On January 1, 1887, the communities of Klein-Zdikau and Radschau came from the Wolin judicial district to the Winterberg judicial district.

In the judicial district of Winterberg there were 26,246 people in 1869, compared to 29,376 in 1900.

The judicial district of Winterberg had a population of 29,663 in 1910, of whom 17,394 stated German and 12,180 Czech as the colloquial language. There were also 89 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the judicial district.

Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Winterberg came completely to the newly founded Czechoslovakia , with the court division essentially remaining in place until 1938. After the Munich Agreement , the area was part of the Prachatitz district or the Sudetenland . The district court was assigned to the district court district Deggendorf .

After the Second World War, the area became part of the Okres Prachatice , to which it still belongs today. After the district authorities lost their administrative powers in the course of an administrative reform in 2003, these are taken over by the municipalities or the Jihočeský kraj , to which the area around Vimperk has been amalgamated with other districts since the beginning of the 21st century.
