history

The original patrimonial jurisdiction was abolished in the Austrian Empire after the revolutionary years of 1848/49 . They were replaced by the district, regional and higher regional courts, which were planned according to the principles of the Minister of Justice and whose creation was approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I on July 6, 1849 . The judicial district of Tepl initially belonged to the district of Eger and in 1854 included the 50 cadastral communities Abashin, Altsattl, Auschowitz, Besikau, Böhmisch-Borau, Branischau, Deutsch-Borau, Dobrawod, Einsiedl, Enkengrün, Habakladrau, Hohendorf, Hollewing, Hurschk, Kladerlas, Krips, Kschiha, Kuttnau, Landek, Lusading, Marienbad, Martnau, rubbish jam, Neschikau, Nesnitz, Obergramling, Passlas, Pauten, Pern, Pfaffengrün, Pistau, Pobitz, Pöken, Prochomuth, Prosau, Rankowitz, Rauchbach, Royau, Sahrat, Schrikowitz, Stanowitz, Stift-Tepl, Tepl, Unter-Gramling, Weserau, Wilkowitz, Wischezahn, Wischkowitz, Witschin and Zeberhisch. In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868 onwards, the judicial district Tepl together with the judicial district Weseritz (Bezdružice) formed the district Tepla . In 1887 it was decided to establish an additional judicial district in Marienbad . For this purpose, the ten communities Abashin, Auschowitz with Stanowitz, Einsiedl, Kabakladrau with garbage jam, Hohendorf, Marienbad, Pistau with Untergramling, Hollawing, Kcettnau with Martnau, Rauschenbach, Royau, Witjowitz were eliminated from the judicial district of Tepl and with the city of Sangerberg from the judicial district of Petschau merged to form the judicial district of Marienbad. The establishment of the judicial district took effect on May 1, 1888. For this purpose, the community of Deutsch-Thomaschlag was assigned to the Tepl district by the Plan judicial district on January 1, 1890.

In 1869, 16,258 people lived in 33 communities or 50 cadastral communities in the judicial district of Tepl. After the territorial changes in the late 19th century, the population fell to 10,227. In 1900 the judicial district covered an area of 178.22 km² with only 31 municipalities or 34 cadastral communities in the judicial district. The judicial district of Teplá had a population of 10,123 in 1910, of whom 10,095 stated German and four Czech as the colloquial language. There were also 24 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the judicial district.

Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was signed on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Tepl became part of the newly founded Czechoslovakia , with the division of courts essentially remaining in place until 1938. After the Munich Agreement , the area was added to the district of Tepl . After the Second World War, the area belonged to the Okres Cheb , but its authorities lost their administrative powers in the course of an administrative reform in 2003. Since then, these have been taken care of by the municipalities or Karlovarský kraj , and the area around Teplá has been owned since the beginning of the 21st century.
