The judicial district Marienbad ( Czech : soudní okres Mariánské Lázně ) was a judicial district in the crown land of Bohemia, which was subordinate to the district court Marienbad . It covered areas in the western part of Bohemia. The city of Marienbad (Mariánské Lázně) was the center and seat of the judicial district . The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1991 .

history

The original patrimonial jurisdiction was abolished in the Austrian Empire after the revolutionary years of 1848/49 . They were replaced by the district, regional and higher regional courts, which were planned according to the principles of the Minister of Justice and whose creation was approved by Emperor Franz Joseph I on July 6, 1849 . The later area of the Marienbad judicial district initially belonged to the Eger district and was divided between the Tepl and Bečov judicial districts . In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration, the area became part of the Teplá district and the Karlovy Vary district from 1868 . The establishment of the judicial district Marienbad was legally decided in 1887, whereby the judicial district was formed from ten communities of the judicial district Tepl and the city of Sangenberg of the judicial district Beschau and initially remained part of the district Tepl. The establishment of the judicial district took effect on May 1, 1888, when the Marienbad district court began its activities.

On October 1, 1902, the judicial district of Marienbad and the judicial district of Bad Königswart (Mariánské Lázně) formed the district of Marienbad .

The judicial district of Marienbad had a population of 15,537 in 1910, of which 15,295 stated German and 8 Czech as the colloquial language. There were also 234 foreign speakers or foreigners living in the judicial district.

Due to the border regulations of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district Marienbad came completely to the newly founded Czechoslovakia , with the court division essentially remaining in place until 1938. After the Munich Agreement , the area was added to the Marienbad district.

After the Second World War, the area belonged to the Okres Cheb , but its authorities lost their administrative powers in the course of an administrative reform in 2003. Since then, these have been taken care of by the municipalities or Karlovarský kraj , and the area around Marienbad has been owned since the beginning of the 21st century.
