In the course of the establishment of the Marienbad judicial district, the Petschau judicial district had to cede the city of Sangenberg to the Marienbad judicial district, whereby this change came into effect on May 1, 1888.

After the judicial district of Marienbad was elevated to the district of Marienbad on October 1, 1902, together with the judicial district of Bad Königswart ( Mariánské Lázně ) , the judicial district of Bečov formed the district of Tepl together with the judicial district of Tepl .

The judicial district's population was estimated at 18,000 in 1854. In 1869 the first census showed a population of 19,206 people in 25 municipalities or 33 cadastral municipalities.

After the cession of the city of Sangerberg, the population fell to 16,558 inhabitants by 1890, who now lived in 28 communities or 31 cadastral communities.

As a result of the border provisions of the Treaty of Saint-Germain , which was concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Bečov became part of the newly founded Czechoslovakia , with the division of courts essentially remaining in place until 1938. After the Munich Agreement , the area was added to the district of Tepl .
