history

The first written mention of Svárov took place in 1444. The place on the southern edge of the Neundorf Forest on the Neisse remained a small village, whose inhabitants lived from forestry, fishing and agriculture. Since the beginning of the 19th century, some of the residents worked in the factories of Alt-Habendorf and Neu-Habendorf.

In 1832 Schworau , also known as Schwore , consisted of 21 houses with 160 German-speaking residents. There was a cloth whale in the village. The village was parish to the branch church of St. Katharina in Alt-Habendorf. Until the middle of the 19th century, Schwarau remained subject to the allodial rule of Reichenberg .

After the abolition of patrimony , from 1850 on , Schwarau was a part of the community Alt-Habendorf / Starý Habendorf in the Bunzlauer Kreis and judicial district Reichenberg . From 1868 the village belonged to the Reichenberg district . The Czech place name Švarov has also been used since the 1870s . From 1890 on, Schwarau broke away from Alt-Habendorf and formed its own community. The current Czech name Svárov was introduced in 1924. In 1927 the village had 272 German-speaking inhabitants, in 1930 there were 275 people in Schwarau. After the Munich Agreement , it was incorporated into the German Reich in 1938; Until 1945, Schwarau belonged to the Reichenberg district . In 1939 the community had 230 inhabitants. After the end of the Second World War, Svárov came back to Czechoslovakia. In 1946 and 1947, most of the German-Bohemian residents were expelled. Between 1948 and 1960 the village belonged to the Okres Liberec-okolí, after which it came back to the Okres Liberec . In 1961 Svárov was incorporated into Stráž nad Nisou . On April 30, 1976 it was incorporated into Liberec , where it formed the Liberec XXVII-Svárov district . Since September 1st, 1990 Svárov belongs to Stráž nad Nisou as a district. In 1991 Svárov had 63 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 16 houses in which 56 people lived. In total, the place consists of 25 houses.

traffic

Since the expansion of the north-western arterial road from Liberec to the trunk road to Nový Bor, Svárov has been separated from the Neisse by the road. In the course of the further expansion of the European route 442, a motorway intersection with two bridges and a roundabout was built in Svárov at the intersection with the local road from Stráž nad Nisou to Machnín . The connection of the Krásná Studánka, Staré Pavlovice and Nové Pavlovice bypass to road I / 13 between Liberec and Frýdlant , originally planned for September 2011, was delayed due to problems with energy supply lines. There are plans to build a connection road from the Svárover Kreuz to the southwest over the Neisse to Růžodol I in the Liberec Sever industrial area.

Local division

The district Svárov forms the cadastral district Svárov u Liberce .
