Radčice (German Radschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers southeast of Jablonec nad Nisou and belongs to the Okres Jablonec nad Nisou .

geography

The village is located in the Eisenbrod Uplands (Železnobrodská vrchovina) on the left above the valley of the Žernovník brook . One kilometer to the west of the valley is the European route 65 / state road 10 from Turnov to Tanvald , from which state road 287 branches off to Jablonec nad Nisou .

Neighboring towns are Zásada in the north, Držkov in the northeast, Jílové u Držkova in the east, Jirkov and Střevelná in the south, Chlístov and Těpeře in the south-west, Dupanda and Alšovice in the west and Bratřikov and Loužnice in the north-west.

history

The first documentary mention of the village took place in 1547 as the property of the Wartenberg family , from whom it was acquired by the Smiřický von Smiřice in 1615 . In 1864 Radčice became an independent municipality and in the same year the first wooden schoolhouse was built, which was destroyed in the great fire of 1875.

After the reconstruction, the now stone schoolhouse was used until 1930; The inauguration of the new village school took place in 1933, and in 1978 classes were discontinued due to insufficient student numbers. In 1931 the place had 470 inhabitants.
