The first written mention comes from 1385.
Community structure
The Frýdštejn consists of the districts Anděl Strážce (Guardian Angel) , Bezděčín (Bösching) , Borek, Frýdštejn (Fried stone) , Horky (Horek) , Kaškovice (Kasch Kowitz) , Ondříkovice (Ondschikowitz) , Roudný (Raudnei) , Sestroňovice (Sestronowitz) , Slapy (Slap) and Voděrady (Wody Wheel) . Basic settlement units are Barborka, Bezděčín, Frýdštejn, Kaškovice, Ondříkovice, Roudný, Sestroňovice and Voděrady.
The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Bezděčín u Jablonce nad Nisou, Frýdštejn and Ondříkovice.
