Source of the Lusatian Neisse in Nová Ves nad Nisou

Nová Ves nad Nisou (Neudorf an der Neisse) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers east of Jablonec nad Nisou in the Jizera Mountains and belongs to the Okres Jablonec nad Nisou . The Lusatian Neisse rises in Nová Ves .

geography

The place is located at the northern foot of the Schwarzbrunn ridge in the headwaters of the Novoveský potok (Neudorfer Bach) , which flows into the Neisse in Jablonec. To the southeast is the 869 m high Černá studnice (Schwarzbrunnberg) .

In the upper village is the watershed between the Elbe and Oder . The Lusatian Neisse rises to the west and takes its course to the north on the first kilometer through the Schuppengrund. To the west, the Novoveský potok drains through the village to the Neisse. The headwaters located to the east form another stream, which also bears the name Novoveský potok , but its water runs in the opposite direction and finally flows into the Smržovský potok , a tributary of the Kamenice , at the Smržovka train station .

Neighboring towns are Jindřichov nad Nisou and Lučany nad Nisou in the north, Smržovka in the northeast, Horní Ves, Jelení Kout and Nová Mýtina in the east, Horní Černá Studnice in the south-east, Dolní Černá Studnice in the south, Kokonín and Vrskoslav Nisou in the south-west, Jablonec nad and Jappencké Paseky in the north-west.

history

The village was probably formed in the middle of the 16th century when the mountains north and east of Jablonec were settled by Meißnian settlers. The residents lived from agriculture and built a Protestant church that was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. The first documentary evidence of Neissedorf has existed since 1634. The village was subject to various lords; while the upper village belonged to the Semily rule , the lower village was part of the Malá Skála rule . Morchenstern formed the parish for all districts .

After the replacement of patrimonial Neudorf remained divided. In 1850 the community of Ober Neudorf was formed with the district of Ober Schwarzbrunn and the Kynastbauden, with the area belonging to the judicial district of Gablonz an der Neisse . The lower village, however, belonged to the Seidenschwanz community and the grinding shop in Schuppengrund belonged to Wiesenthal . In 1876 all districts were combined to form the municipality of Neudorf an der Neisse . In 1935 two churches were consecrated, one Catholic and one Protestant.

Today the village is primarily a holiday resort; a ski lift is operated in winter. In Nová Ves nad Nisou there are around 150 holiday houses and 100 houses, several restaurants and more than ten guest houses.
